The Third Report launches its platform for Citizen Journalism today, encouraging anyone with a computer and an Internet connection -- increasingly everyone -- to write or refer news articles and opinion pieces aimed at local, national or international audiences. 

Ours is the first news site of its kind, the first to rely on citizen journalists and geographical locator technology to provide not only local news worldwide, but also the most interesting national and international news and opinions of the day from multiple sources.

We expect the reader's experience to be enhanced by the algorithmic prioritization of the news, which ensures readers are presented first with the stories that actually are generating the most interest, not just what some media executive wants them to see.

At the heart of it all is our citizen journalist, the Third Man. Once registered as a Third Man, a citizen journalist may investigate and report on any subject of interest, from the local high school football game to the latest political drama.

Third Men and Women who provide exclusive content, whether news or opinion, will receive half the advertising revenue their article generates, and all headlines, including those of referred stories, will earn contributors 1 percent of the ad revenue from the news block those headlines run in.
